Veterinarians
Dr. Stephanie McClure, Veterinarian
Dr. McClure grew up in Delphos, Ohio, and earned degrees in biology and environmental science from the University of Findlay. After working in the environmental field, she followed her passion for animals and earned her DVM from The Ohio State University in 2003. She has lived in the Bexley community with her husband and three children since then.
At home, Dr. McClure enjoys the company of her three dogs—Frankie, Mae, and Luca—a cat named Bex, and spending time with her family. Her professional interests include dentistry, surgery, internal medicine, and animal behavior.
Dr. Heather See, Veterinarian
Dr. See is originally from Mansfield, Ohio. She earned her pre-vet degree from the University of Findlay and her DVM from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She joined the Bexley Animal Hospital team in 2022 after working in western Columbus and London.
Dr. See enjoys connecting with pets and their families and providing compassionate preventative care. Outside the clinic, she spends time with her husband, two children, a boxer, a long-haired cat, and a crested gecko. She also enjoys detective novels, long walks, and relaxing by the pool.
Dr. Mercedez Wood, Veterinarian
Dr. Mercedez Wood grew up in Alliance Ohio. She graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a BA in biology in 2017 while being a 3-sport student athlete in volleyball, softball and basketball. After graduation, she moved to Columbus where she worked in sales for a few years before joining BAH as a veterinary assistant. Dr. Wood applied to vet school during her time as an assistant and continued to work throughout her veterinary school journey. She obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in May of 2025 and is excited to be returning to BAH as a doctor!
In her free time, she enjoys patio hangouts in the sun with her cat, Akira, traveling, sporty activities, and exploring new coffee shops/restaurants!
Her professional interests include preventative care, advanced diagnostic imaging including ultrasound and CT and exotic animal medicine! In addition to dogs and cats, Dr. Wood is also enthusiastic about caring for pocket pets.
Management
MacKenzie, Practice Manager
MacKenzie earned her Business degree from Capital University and brings a passion for both client education and animal welfare. Her furry family includes five dogs—Walter, Maisie, Dutton, Dolly, and Luke—two cats, Windsor and Cam, and a lively flock of 21 chickens and 6 ducks.
Her professional interests include pet insurance, client communication, and education. When she’s not at the clinic, she enjoys gardening, fostering bulldogs, reading about true crime, and spending quality time with family.
Registered Veterinary Technicians
Alice, Registered Veterinary Technician
Alice is a lifelong resident of Upper Arlington and has worked as a licensed tech since graduating from Columbus State in 1997. Her specialties include anesthesia, client education, patient care, and dental cleanings.
Alice enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, dog Jodi, and cats Sheldon and Rigby. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, and biking.
Veterinary Assistants & Client Service Team
Mikayla, Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist
Mikayla graduated from The Ohio State University in 2019 with a B.A. in Criminology and completed her Master of Social Work in 2023. She’s passionate about the human-animal bond and aims to pursue a career in veterinary social work.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with their pets.
Abby, Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist
Abby, originally from northeast Ohio, earned her degree in Animal Biosciences from The Ohio State University in 2024. She plans to attend veterinary school in the future.
Abby enjoys hiking with her dog, Poppy, caring for her horses Dash and Chevy, and boating on Lake Erie with her twin sister.
Emma, Veterinary Assistant
Emma is from West Bloomfield, Michigan, and is studying Animal Science at The Ohio State University. She hopes to attend veterinary school and pursue a career in lab animal medicine.
She loves spoiling her dog Kaboose, tap dancing, and watching reality TV.
Jaylah, Veterinary Assistant
Jaylah relocated from New Jersey to Ohio in 2019 to pursue veterinary medicine. She plans to become a Registered Veterinary Technician and is passionate about animal behavior, exotics, and the human-animal bond.
Jaylah lives with her guinea pigs, Nutmeg and Peach, and a spirited Chihuahua-Min Pin mix named Sasha. She also enjoys reading, drawing, painting, and gaming.
Shirel, Veterinary Assistant
Shirel moved from Pretoria, South Africa, to Columbus in 2024. She holds a B.Sc. and Honors in Zoology and Genetics and is working toward attending veterinary school.
In her spare time, Shirel enjoys dance, fantasy novels, and time with her husband and two rabbits—Waffles and General Pythagoras (“Pi”), a tripod lionhead.

Blueberry McClure, Assistant to the Regional Manager
Blueberry hails from the swamps of northern Michigan and has become an essential (and charismatic) part of the Bexley Animal Hospital team. He can often be found lounging in the lobby or napping in his office—a cozy cat bed.
His hobbies include stealing plastic, eating liver treats, and supervising humans from the most comfortable chair in the building.
